Grilled pineapple with spice cake sauce

Ingredients

  • 25 cl water
  • 3 cardamom pods
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • zest of ½ lemon
  • 2 cm piece of fresh ginger, sliced
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 slices of spice cake, dried and finely ground
  • 1 pineapple
  • ice-cream

    Bring the water to the boil with the cardamom pods, the cinnamon stick, the lemon zest and the ginger.

    Strain the water, add the sugar and the spice cake and bring to the boil. Stir regularly.

    Heat a griddle pan. Slice the pineapple, remove the hard core, and cut the slices into two. Grill on both sides in the hot griddle pan.

    Serve the pineapple with a scoop of ice-cream and the spice cake sauce
